The Society of Kristu Dasis is more dedicated to Social Apostolate than Social Work. We firmly believe in our inherent calling and responsibility to contribute to the moral obligation of bettering society, just as Jesus Christ and his actions exemplified. He not only preached the good news to all but also liberated the oppressed and marginalized.
Women’s Welfare Association (WWA) is a Voluntary Non-Governmental Organization constituted and registered in 1978 under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 and mostly working with rural people in Wayanad district of Kerala State in India. WWA promotes integrated people centered rural development for improving the quality of life and living of village communities irrespective of religion, caste, creed, color and political leaning. Women from different walks of life are members of its general body and Director Board.
Women’s Welfare Association is working with the target population women, children, small and marginal farmers, agriculture labours in Kerala especially in Wayanad district. It was an organisation working in very deserving areas initially started rural development activities in four villages and over the period extended its service in whole Wayanad and nearby district of Wayanad. The organisation has 43 years of experience in community development interventions and well functional in community-based organization. We undertake national and international project which purely design to improve the quality of life of layman in the society.

WWA promotes the job-oriented study support to the needy children those from helpless deserving families for send their children in higher studies. The basic principle of WWA on giving financial assistance to children: ie “Give net and do not give fish” On the basis of this view, we identifying such deserving families well in advance to secure the future of the children and their families. Students of different age groups need financial support to continue their studies like buying study material, uniform cloths and paying fees. Up to 10th a minimum support will be enough, but when they are in college or for higher studies, they need substantial support.
NABARD has taken an advanced step on addressing climate change vulnerability through their new intervention “Integrated Watershed Development for Rehabilitation of degraded soil and climate change adaptation. Prime focus of the project is to reduce the vulnerability of climate change by the gentle and sustainable use of soil and water resources especially on soil health and productivity. The project is supported by KfW (Credit Institution for reconstruction) situated in Germany with the direct partnership of NABARD, WWA (Women’s Welfare Association) and VWC (Village Watershed Committee). NABARD in collaboration with KfW developed a program “KfW soil project ( phase I) for integration of Watershed Development strategies with Climate Change Adaptation for Rehabilitation of Degraded soil. The initiative proposed was for co-financing of the WDF initiatives, based on customized policies and guidelines with an explicit focus on protection against land degradation, erosion control and conservation of biodiversity with the ultimate objective of enhancing environmental and social resilience to adapt to the changing climate. The project was approved for support from the German Government (BMZ) under its initiative “One World No Hunger” (SEWOH) for controlling soil erosion and rehabilitation of degraded soils especially in areas with communities who are significantly vulnerable to negative impacts of climate changes.

The ever- changing technology and its recent growth of internet as well as the smart mobile phones penetration of the state, with the proactive measures of the Government digitally empower the citizen. With rising levels of e-literacy and availability of digital infrastructure, demand continues to grow for services that help citizens realize the potential of e – Governance. The state government responded by launching e- governing initiatives in most of the department. WWA realized the visionary measures and the importance of digital literacy to make every citizen to e- literate persons. On participate this digital revolution WWA has been taken a role of service provider of e- service through running” Akshaya centre”.
